Q: Where do I enter and/or change the tax rate?
A: Press the red button at the top right corner of the screen.
Q: How do I find the tax rate automatically?
A: Press the black button at the top left corner of the screen. It will turn blue to indicate that GPS is activated. Press it again to turn the GPS signal off.
Q: The automatic sales tax rate is incorrect.
A: There are literally thousands of possible tax rates in the USA and Canada. Plus Tax finds the average sales tax rate for your location. This does not include special taxes such as food or other location-specific charges.
Q: Does this app work on the iPod Touch?
A: Yes, though due to the lack of GPS, location-based sales tax results may not be completely accurate, and also require a WiFi connection.
Q: The app wont start.
A: Make sure you are running the latest version of iPhone OS. If that doesn’t work, delete and reinstall the app.
Q: The app says it can't locate my position, and gives me repeated errors, but it was working a few hours earlier.
A: Plus Tax uses "reverse geocoding" which searches for your location using your coordinates via Core Location. Although this is a standard feature in iOS, the total amount of lookups is limited by Google. Therefore at random times, mostly after 12:00pm Pacific Time, all third party apps that use reverse geocoding temorarily will not able to retrieve your location. Fortunately this is only temporary. If you try again within a few hours, it will work again.
